Richard Brooman: Bass Baritone

After five international rugby tours and twenty years of rugby songs, Richard realised that he was still waiting for the Royal Opera House to call. Better to stick to the accounting day job and develop his passion for singing in an amateur capacity. He played parts such as the Doctors: Bartolo, The Marriage of Figaro and The Barber of Seville; and Dulcamara, The Elixir of Love. Baronets: Sir Despard, Ruddigore and Sir Tristram, Martha; Barons: Zeta, The Merry Widow and Douphol, La Traviata; Earl Mountararat, Iolanthe. Years passed, athletic prowess faded and Richard was slowly elevated to Calchas, great augur and high priest of Jupiter, La Belle Hélène; and Somnus, God of sleep, Semele. In recent years, he has peaked as Imperial Head of State: as the Emperor of Japan, The Mikado; and as Emperor Altoum of China, Turandot.

Rowena Gibbons: Pianoforte

After studying oboe (primarily) and piano at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester, Rowena discovered that her great love was accompanying other performers. Currently, she is accompanist to Thame Choral Society, Towcester Choral Society and Aylesbury Festival Choir and in autumn 2021 took up her first post as Musical Director for Flitwick Singers. Yearly, she organises a choral concert as part of the Ulverston International Music Festival in Cumbria and on her home turf, teaches and plays for the majority of Associated Board and Trinity exams for Milton Keynes Music Service.

This is a church fundraiser with all donations gratefully received on the day
